A 70 Kg man who was dieting, out of temptation ate a large cheese pizza. Since he was dieting, his metabolism was low. Metabolism refers to the burning of nutrients in food. On the fateful day, he panicked due to the consumption of pizza as it disrupted his dieting routine. So he wanted to burn all the calories consumed from the pizza within 30 minutes and has to choose between running, jogging and walking as he has other activities scheduled for the day.

Lets do the calculation below to help him choose the activity based on the time required.

The metabolic rate can also be defined as the energy consumption rate for a body based on the activity. Based on the data available, an average 68 Kg person consumes the following calories for the below activities:

Running: 936 calories/hour

Jogging: 540 calories/hour

Walking: 432 calories/hour
