Appreciate your point. Firstly, I said "if at all needed." In my understanding those immune compromised includes those who have had organ transplants, stem cell transplants , cancer etc., as well as those with primary immunodeficiency and those treated with immunosuppressive medications. Immune compromised can be natural from birth or can be created by certain medications. So it is up to to those individuals who are very elderly and immune compromised based on their current body condition can discuss with experts to take a decision. Not all cancer patients have weak immunity nor does all elderly. Also a young guy can be immune deficient by birth.
The thought behind my statement was since it is said that the vaccines doesn't contain live virus, it cannot spread further when injected into body. Those with weakened immunity can mount appropriate response against a non-live virus at least. But for those who are healthy , robust immune response from natural infection works equally better.
