Are humans mere body making machines ?
Human life is indeed perplexing. No one knows why we are born and why we need to live and die. Yet like programmed machines we eat, sleep, defend and reproduce. Yet uncertainty can strike us unannounced and unexpected. Even uncertainty can affect this programmed life. This is the biggest contradictory aspect of life. The same intelligence which gives birth and sustains life also takes it unannounced. Why is it so?
One is born dependent and as days passes by becomes matured to become independent . The cycle of birth and death happens in front of our senses in various forms and ones mind isn’t affected by this impermanence. The mind still believes that life is permanent to amass wealth and indulges with the outer world perpetually. The further mystery of life is we know it starts and end, like a video is played but we have no control to pause the video of life.
It may appear during sleep that our video is paused but there is still video progressing, the realization of it happening upon waking up for the senses to know that the appearing world had changed much to the expectation or unexpectation of oneself. Thus sleep is only a lack of active participation temporarily .While death is a permanent cease of action of mind’s identity. We don’t know what will happen the next moment as it is combination of familiar action and unfamiliar action.
