A VEGETARIANS 4C’S

It has been just more than 10 years now since I started practicing vegetarianism. Being born among non-vegetarian family members and society, the journey from killing animals for food to killing only plants and microbes was hard (peer pressure, fear of isolation and nutritional deficiency and being mocked at) and shocking to my well-wishers as my presence was creating an odd situation for them as my ways was not merging with their ways.

The most difficult part was, unable to participate in most gathering either due to little or no choice of vegetarian food and persistent inquiry for this decision which can be quite understandable due to their eagerness to find reasons. This was purely a personal decision and strongly adhering to the below given 4C’s had helped me tremendously to overcome the tough situations and questioning and to stay in the path of vegetarianism.

1. Choice

Choice comes before compassion as becoming a vegetarian is possible only because one is born as a human with the ability to make rational actions.

This human life gives us choice to challenge certain habits or way of living and it is completely up to us to choose or not…
