Hope and Pandemic

It is really intriguing and baffling to find that the pandemic is still sustaining for almost 2 years and the SARS-COV-2 virus keeps on popping new variants of interests (VOI) and variants of concern(VOC) as days progresses. But as the great Charles Sawyer says “Of all the forces that make for a better world, none is so indispensable, none so powerful, as hope. Without hope men are only half alive. With hope they dream and think and work.” We hope for better days to come. The three pronged approach of vaccinations, 3T’s and CAB’s are to the rescue.

Vaccinations:

For the better days, vaccines have already played a better role and is playing a better role currently. Vaccines have been found to be life savior as evident from world data in stopping serious cases and hospitalization. In UK, even though the delta variant is more infectious than the previous alpha variant, the rate of hospitalizations and death have sharply reduced. Even in India, where the delta variant played havoc in the earlier part of this year, after the mass administration of vaccines, the number of cases of hospitalizations and deaths have reduced drastically.

Thus the highly spreading Delta variant, if not for the vaccines, the infections would have spiraled out of control and is mostly contained. Thus…
