What does the game of snake and ladder tell us about life?

During our childhood times, snake and ladder was one of the games all of us would have indulged with. The beauty of the game is that no one knows what happens the next moment and reaching the final goal happens by surprise. One who is leading can fall and one who has fell can lead. Thus it keeps the gamers in grip and no one can celebrate too early. There is always an element of surprise.

Two important lessons the game of snake and ladder has taught me are hope and efforts. One should never give up hope and always put efforts irrespective of the results. The results can be positive or negative, but we should never give up. In the game of life , we can always have ambitions and aims and move in that direction, but the outcome of our actions are not in our hands. Happenings in life are always uncertain as no one knows what happens the next moment. The recent pandemic is the best example for this. Many people have lost their dear ones or their everyday routine would have got affected, but as human beings we can only control what happens within us but not outside of us. We still have to move on.

Just because things don’t happen according to our expectations, we shouldn’t loose hope nor fail to put efforts. The snake and ladder game verily teaches this. All of us have some form of goal in life, there will be ups and down which we may encounter in our direction towards the goal, with hope and efforts we may reach the destination one day, if we are lucky. They say “more the efforts , greater the luck”
